Executive Protection Course

This course has been developed to provide candidates with the skills needed to work as an Executive Protection Operative in the Private Security Industry. The training is recognized in 70+ countries, allowing successful candidates to apply for licenses and employment worldwide. Consisting of online learning, classroom lectures, and practical exercises, this course is both comprehensive and engaging. 

This course is for individuals or groups looking to work in the private security sector as an Executive Protection Operative. This is an intensive program and aims to provide all candidates with both the theoretical information and practical procedures for working as an EPO in all sectors of Private Security including, celebrities, high net-worth business people, asset protection, information and data, counter surveillance, and residential security.

This course is designed to comply with the requirements of the SIA, recognized as the gold standard worldwide and accepted in 70 + countries. The course is taught by instructors with a wide range of personal experience including Military, Law Enforcement, S.W.A.T. and Executive Protection.  The training consists of 3 units: 

 Unit 1: Working as a Close Protection Operative - The Principles of Close Protection; - Terrorism Today; - The importance of the Team in Close Protection; - The figure of the Team Leader - Role and responsibility - Arrivals/Departures – Entering/Exiting vehicles; - Covering and ex filtration procedures; - Clothing and Ethics of Behavior; - Safety Procedures and Tactical Procedures in Low & High Profile; - The various formations of the team; - Unarmed Combat Techniques - RST (Residential Security Team) - Counter Surveillance; - Use of Radio Communications;

v Unit 2: Conflict Management within the Private Security Industry. 

v Unit 3: Planning, Preparing and Supporting a Close Protection Operation - Introduction to threat assessment and risk analysis. - Study and analysis of cases and precedents; - Advanced procedures: research, preparation and planning. 

Certification requires 140 hours of face to face learning over a minimum of 14 days. This can be broken up between active courses or in a 14-day block. This allows candidates to plan leave from their current employment and practice drills before moving on to the next unit, or complete the course as quickly as needed. All face to face learning, lectures, and practical sessions will be held in Indiana, home of Security Defensive Systems LLC.

Assessment is carried out during the course but will include a written case study, multiple choice exam, practical scenarios, and the final exercise. It is not necessary for candidates to have any previous experience in Executive Protection. The assignment will require good verbal communication skills, also reading and writing to High School equivalency.
